The show’s final story and songs are drawn from the creator’s real-life experiences and explore reconciliation with the world and oneself after the loss of a loved one.
Focusing on the central concept of meditation, composer Mark Benis’s music presents a central theme that is reflected and transformed throughout the piece through the use of techniques such as note shifts, delay effects, and inverted audio. To bring Ail and Lia’s journey to life, Mark has assembled talented musicians who have contributed to acclaimed titles such as Elden Ring, Street Fighter V, and Final Fantasy XV: Assassin’s Festival. Their performances on instruments such as the erhu, xiao, and dizi create a moving and unique Chinese aesthetic in AiliA.
