The armed forces of six Cold War nations – allied with NATO or the Warsaw Pact – can be drawn into a highly complex World War III: the United States, West Germany, Great Britain and France against the Soviet Union and East Germany. From manned and heavy fighter jets to wing-to-wing air defense systems, self-propelled missiles, escort helicopters, attack aircraft and fast interceptors – each WARNO nation has its own unique set of vehicles, aircraft and military weapons.

Over 1000 different military units are on display, such as the heavy M1A1 Abrams, the British MCV-80 Warrior, the French Gazelle reconnaissance helicopters, the German Leopard tanks, the Spetsnaz special forces, the SU-25 Frogfoot, the East German KPz T-55AM2 or the Mil Mi-24 Hind helicopters. In the weapons room, each weapon can be examined in detail and compared.
Many famous regiments and brigades, each with its own unique identity, act as the parent unit of your unit. Use the available units, choose your troop economy and customize your forces in the advanced WARNO battle group creation system.

A new phase of warfare

Experience a transitional campaign based on the command of five major armies, set in the areas of responsibility of NATO CENTAG and Warsaw Pact Central Forces in 1989, placing you right in the middle of the infamous initial battle of Fulda.

The Army Commander campaign allows you to command hundreds of units and corps up to brigade level, including the US Army, the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and the 3rd Armored Division, the West German 5th Panzer Division, the Soviet 79th Guards Tank Division and 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division, and the East German 7th Panzer Division.

8 scripted operations allow you to create bold battle scenes that tell captivating stories of all-too-real warfare.
